The e-Residency program allows anyone to become an e-resident of the baltic country, obtaining an ID card with a certificate. This digital identity allows you to access the Estonian administration and identifies you as a member of the digital nation.
So why is that interesting?
Although that card does not grant you any physical residence or citizenship rights, it allows you to do a lot of different things, from signing documents to founding a company in Estonia without ever visiting the country. It is a gateway to the Estonian digital administration.

How to Apply for the e-Residency?

Gather documents
You will need:
- A copy of your government-issued ID.
- A passport-style digital photo.
- Motivation statement.
- Visa or Mastercard.
Submit application
Pay state fee and receive a confirmation email after successfully submitting. State fee: €100-120.
Application review
Estonian Police & Border Guard Board conducts a background check and will notify you by email when the process is complete. Process: 2-5 weeks
Pick up
If granted e-Residency, you will be invited to:
- Collect e-Residency kit at the location selected on your application.
- Bring government-issued ID submitted with application.
